Fabio Armani

Fabio Armani was born in Rome in 1958. He studied piano, classical and electronic composition in its own city. He has a degree in Astrophysics and its musical passions have been soon attracted by the advanced technical evolution. He has been a senior researcher specialized in the fields of DSP (Digital Signal Processing), Computer Music and Acoustic. He has attended its research activities for more than nine years at the IRIS (Research Institute for the Entertainment Industry). Currently he is the president of an independent music label called DIFFERENT LANDS after having spent a period as Director of Technology in one of the most important eConsulting agencies. He holds advanced courses on the Music Technology subject for electronic music composers, and he is a computer music teacher at the "Centro Ricerche Musicali" and "Accademia Romana di Musica" in Rome.

His musical interests span in a lot of musical genres: jazz, world, fusion and electronic music.

1990	With the composer Marco Carpicieci, he founded the "Advena Avis" musical project, where they experimented on compositions based on Middle-Age melodies blended with electronic elements and performance techniques taken form Middle-East and ancient traditions.
1993	He started, with Claudio Rosati, the "Night Wings", a band that win a lot of International Contest, and realized compositions that mix jazz and electronic music.
2000	He founded an independent World Fusion Music label called DIFFERENT LANDS, specialized in jazz, electronic and world music, and starts the World Fusion ensemble "Terre Differenti".
